Daily Bible Reading Plan

Most people criticize the Bible without ever reading it. This plan helps you to read the whole Bible in a year – the New Testament twice and the Old Testament once a year. It is thought that on average you will need to set aside 20-30mins a day to read the chapters set out in the plan.

To understand the Bible, it follows that you must be familiar with it. The Bible is not a book which, once read, can be put back on the shelf – even after a lifetime of study, many still claim that there is more to know and learn. Christadelphians use and follow this daily reading plan and continue to read their Bibles daily, throughout their lives.

There is great benefit in doing so. The Bible teaches that our natural minds are alien from God’s ways and thoughts:

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned”. 1 Corinthians 2:14

“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be”. Romans 8:7

To counter this natural inclination of man to do things opposed to God’s ways, it is vitally important that we fill our minds with Godly things and not fleshly things. We must familiarize ourselves with God and the only way to do this is to read His book, the Bible.

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me (Jesus)”. John 5:39

“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16

“Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed”. John 6:27
